He is very much a boys boy, Into anything boyish, fighting, football and wrestling. He loves playing with his Power Rangers and fighting with his little brother.</div><div></div><div>Ciaran is 3. He at the moment loves anything pink, power rangers, ribbons as long as it pink Ciaran will play with it. He was sent for an echo gram and it was discovered he had a pulmonary <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">stenosis</span></span></span>, this was explained to us and it wasn't the best news you can hear about your newborn but his wasn't "that" serious and he wasn't an emergency so we had to wait until the 23rd February for an appointment at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Yorkhill</span></span></span> hospital.<br /><br />We took <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Ciaran</span></span></span> up in the afternoon of the 23rd and our life's changed instantly, he was sent for another echo gram and the discovered his problem was a lot more severe than they thought at first. He had to have an operation the next day or he wouldn't make it to the end of the week.<br /><br />On the 24<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">th</span></span></span> February we prepared <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Ciaran</span></span></span> for surgery, its the worse feeling in the world sending your 5 day old son down for an operation. He was in theatre for 90 <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">mins</span></span></span> and when he was brought back out we were told it was great success.<br /><br />On the 25<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">th</span></span></span> we took him home and expected to live life normally with him from then on. We took him back to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">Yorkhill</span></span></span> for a checkup on the 5<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">th</span></span></span> March and during his echo gram they saw what they thought was blood coming from his heart, the doctor reassured me that it would heal its self and just to bring him back in a weeks time to double check.<br /><br /><br />Wednesday 10<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12">th</span></span></span> March started off as a very normal day, hubby went to work and I stayed at home with our son's, I took them both to the Health visitor and they were both weighed and measured and given a clean bill of health.<br /><br />I put <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">Ciaran</span></span></span> down for a sleep and set about making dinner. At about 5 <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14">Ciaran</span></span></span> woke up and I asked my husband to feed him, as George was feeding him he made this horrible noise but I assumed he had guzzled his milk to quickly and just left George to it. about 30 seconds later George screamed at me to phone an ambulance as <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15">Ciaran</span></span></span> wasn't breathing, George performed CPR on him as I phoned, they were telling us what to do but <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16">Ciaran</span></span></span> was this horrible colour and gasping for air.<br /><br />The ambulance arrived within minutes and they rushed <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17">Ciaran</span></span></span> to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18">Ayr</span> Hospital, the paramedics just thought he had chocked as well and would be fine.<br /><br />We were rushed straight into resuscitation and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19">Ciaran</span></span></span> had his clothes cut from him, at the time all I could think was those clothes were brand new and now they are wasted.<br /><br />We were taken to the family room whilst they worked on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20">Ciaran</span></span></span> and about 2 hrs after we got there a doctor came through and told us that they didn't think <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21">Ciaran</span></span></span> was going to survive as he had had a blood clot burst and his heart was filling with blood, we asked how long he had and they said at most an hour.<br /><br />George and I broke down in tears and all i could think about was how I was going was I going to tell Jack his baby brother wasn't coming home. We phoned our parents with the news, and soon they were with us, waiting to say goodbye.<br /><br />About 30 <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_22"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_22">mins</span></span></span> later another doctor came through and I thought she was coming to get us to say goodbye. But instead she was telling us that at the last minute she had tried a procedure that involves using a syringe to drain the blood from his heart.
